Wellingborough MP Slams Government ‘Cock up’

Wellingborough MP, Peter Bone, has waded into a fighter jet contract between India and France, slamming his own government in the process. French firm Dassault Rafale slashed their price for the fighter jets which saw India place a deal with them. BAe systems had also tendered a bid. Mr Bone said in the House of Commons: “Last Sunday I attended Indian republic day at the Wellingborough Hindu Association, yet the same week we learn that a £20 billion fighter contract has been lost to, of all people, the French. We now know that the lead bidder was not the British Prime Minister or the British Government, but the Germans. What on earth do they know about cricket and curries? Why was the British Government not leading on that? How did the Secretary of State allow such a cock-up?” I wonder how the inability of this Tory/Lib Dem coalition government to secure this contract will go down with the voters in Towcester, which has a large BAe Systems Advanced Technology Centre? This contract would have ensured more jobs for the town, and secured the employment of others in local suppliers to BAe. Mr Bone has also questioned the purpose of sending British aid to India at a time when cuts are being made at home. An article in the Mail Online quted mr Bone as saying: “It just goes to show that it’s a myth that by Britain becoming an aid superpower and doling billions of pounds out to countries like this exerts any influence whatsoever on the decisions made by those governments when purchasing equipment. We need to slash the international development money and invest the billions saved to help hard-pressed British families.” Well said Peter, how many more Conservatives can you wake from their slumber? Britain is sending £280million to India for each of the next four years, even though the country has more billionaires than Britain and has its own space programme. The aid package is 15 times larger than the £18million France sent to India in 2009.

Confused at the BBC
The BBC website has reported that the failure of young migrants to integrate with the community has been blamed for the closure of a Polish club in Wellingborough. I would have thought that the opposite were true, it is because the young Poles are integrating into British Society, and not being an insular group, that they no longer need the help and support of their fellow ex-pats. In 2008 government figures revealed there were more than 10,000 Eastern Europeans working in Northampton alone, in a total population of about 200,000.

Be Careful What You Wish For
Do you remember the PC zealots of the last Labour government? Well the one in waiting looks like it is going to be a whole lot worse. For an example take the Shadow equalities minister, Kate Green, who has seen the red mist descend over a cartoon image of a bunny girl on a real ale beer pump. Has she got so little going on in her life and job as ‘Shadow Equalities minister’ that this takes up space in her tiny brain? If you are ever considering voting for Labour ever again be afraid, be very afraid.

The tories had a big part to play in the destruction of our local dairy industry. Taking us into the common market and then allowing the collapse of the Milk Marketing Board and enforced quotas to be freely traded. Too late Mr.Bone your party has already been found guilty on many accounts. As for Heskeths Ukip tory look alikes I fear they will fare no better than yourselves when it comes to the real issues facing this country.

You may be right, but it could be the only option we have to even have a hope of getting a grip on things, unless in a decade or two it gets settled in blood. The August riots were just a taste of things to come – and they wont be limited to our big towns and cities. The ‘melting pot’ is about to become a pressure cooker – and the pressure is rising.

I agree with Stephen Osborne regarding overcrowding and the social problems that brings with it. When I visit Northampton it makes me wonder if it is part of England any more.
Caldecote is a very quiet hamlet but no doubt it will become just like Milton Keynes hamlet; lost in a sprawling mess. With no hope of feeding a growing local population. Tied for ever to the whims of the state.
Silverstone farmers comments on UKIP we have not forgotton Lord Heskeths failures round these parts.

    Scene 1-The Public Stye. The Porcines in public Assembly . . . . .
    Those impious pigs,
Who, by frequent squeaks, have dared to impung
The settled Swellfoot system, or to make
    Irreverent mockery of the genuflextions
Incalculated by the arch-priest, have been whipt
Into a loyal and orthodox whine.

Mass immigration into Northamptonshire is destroying the countryside, something that used to make the nene valley area a beautiful place to live. This area, let alone the country is a whole has become a complete and utter mess. Ok so Poles made the effort (apparently) but you go into Wellingborough shopping centre and all you hear is foreign tongue uttered at the top of their voices. That is before the decreasing employment opportunities for local people.

In the Last ten years this country has become nothing less than an international hub, a place to be exploited and culturally raped. UK PLC is not seen as a country, but as a mere economic teat to suckle on by whoever decides on a whim to move here and settle just like that. I am disgusted by the fact that this has been allowed to happen. The EU is an absolute joke and is perpetuated by ideologists that cannot see beyond their gravy train noses.

I mean look at the plans for Wellingborough to expand north and east. There is no other reason for this happening other than the ripple effect of immigration, which render the whole plan to revamp the town centre as pointless. Every time I look at those poor surrounding fields (sidegate lane and beyond), the more I realise how vulnerable they really are. I live in Higham Ferrers and all I hear now is constant tyre roar, it never used to be half as bad, even when the A6 bypass was built. Higham and Rushden are now completely roadlocked – every time a road is built developers see it as a target to aim towards. Wellingborough, Irthlingborough, Irchester, Rushden and Higham Ferrers (possibly even Raunds) are on the verge of becoming an ugly mass conurbation, with the exception of the nene floodplain.

Oh and by the way, regarding the Poles integrating into British society, at the beer festival last year, how come they didnt make any effort to talk to the locals? They all just sat together alone shouting at the top of their voices in their native language, making everyone else feel uneasy. The whole point of beer festivals is to make the effort to talk to people you dont know and appreciate the atmosphere. When I go to Irchester country park, (which is so overcrowded now in the summer it is nothing short of a joke) all I ever see and hear is Eastern Europeans in their souped up cars with their speakers turned right up, destroying the original purpose of the park itself. If that is integration then it is a very loose concept indeed.

If the council ever puts up Polish road signs in order to help these people I will form a group to smash them all down – it would be one step too far. They should be the ones making the effort not us. If they dont like it then they can bugger off. I am no xenophobe, I have alot of foreign friends who are skilled professionals but this really is taking the biscuit. Young migrants have no place in this country when our own young people are struggling to find employment. They need to be given a first class ticket back to where they came from. The only immigrants we need are people with real unqiue value.

Why is it my mothers health treatment is constantly being cancelled due to lack of staff, has to wait for weeks to see a GP, even then is bullied by the doctor to shut up take pills and stop wasting his time. Could it be the influx of low skilled EU workers (who do not pay enough tax to justify what they take back from the state) are overwhelming our public services, rendering the whole noble concept setup in 1946 after ww2 completely redundant?

Sorry about the rant, but alot of ordinary people are really really angry about this. Tension really is building – but I should imagine the situation is even worse in Peterborough. Something has to give, and action needs to be taken before extreme people take advantage and turn more people towards xenophobia as they prey on their fear and vulnerability. Do we not learn anything from the past?

    • Hello Matt, very well said, an excellent summary of what is happening in our party of the county. If you’re at the next Wellingborough Beer festival we’ll have to have a chat, sounds like we have a lot in common.

      • Matt Thompson says:

Thanks, all I and other born and bred people in this area want is moderation, nothing wrong with a few highly skilled people from abroad adding quality and value to our goods and services in other words if they give what they take and then some, that means Indian people who set up corner shops and work all hours keeping them open and putting up with crap from robbers etc, doctors from abroad filling a skills gap, if you get my drift.

Those are the people who are welcomed with open arms and are recognised as part of British society now. The asian run corner shop is every bit as British now as fish and chips. The people in my local corner shop always ask how I am in perfect English – always sell England football merchandise when the world cup is on, etc, people to be proud of fully accepting into our community. Those people never asked for anything when they emmigrated here and they gave us alot. The main reason they came here was because of the commonwealth and the fact they thought they had something to really offer us.

What is happening now is completely different and very worrying, we do not need young immigrants with no skills or experiences, displacing our homes, public services and our own young people, they choose to come here on a whim to benefit themselves, and themselves only. Employers hire them because they know that they are disposable and have much lower living costs due to their lifestyles and are prepared to work for crap wages. They are doing all the entry level jobs our own young should be doing. I full admit a large portion of our own young people are pretty dire (chavs, etc) but if the welfare state was not so generous and the cost of living due to less pressure on housing, they would have much more of an incentive. They have the same human DNA as the polish workers so it is hardly as if they are physically and mentally incapable of doing those jobs.

    • Stephen Osborne says:

Matt extreme people have been running this country into the ground for years. They are called the Tories, the Labourites and the Fibdems. They all have one thing in common, that is an extreme delight in making everything that was good in England bad.
