I hope that all of you manage to stay dry and are not forced out of your home over the festive period through flooding and rising river levels. Maybe had our local politicians decided not to build so extensively on flood plains and then shore them up so they no longer flooded pushing the problem further downstream so other areas that traditionally saw little to no flooding now flood, they would have remained dry. For the Nene east of Northampton, things will only get worse over time with Northampton Borough Council having agreed to build on yet more flood plains at Upton earlier this year. Unfortunately people in Wellingborough, East Northamptonshire and beyond have no say over the idiots who run Northamptonshire Borough Council, but you can make your opinions known by voting for a party that wants to protect the both the people and the countryside of Northamptonshire in next year’s county council elections. If you want to make sure that people have an option to vote for someone different that the same old same old, put your name forward, we live in a democratic country and it is about time that the ordinary people in the street like you and I had our voices heard.
Northants Patriot would like to wish all our regular readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year regardless of your race, ethnicity, class or creed, as unlike some on the far left I could mention, we do not discriminate.
